Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher – Secondary School, Newham Location: Newham, East London Salary: £150 - £200 per day (paid to scale, MPS/UPS, depending on experience) Job Type: [Long-term / Temp-to-Perm / Permanent], Full-time Start Date: November 2026 About the Role Teaching Consultancy is working with a [welcoming and well-resourced] secondary school in Newham to recruit a Design and Technology Teacher from November 2026. You’ll teach D&T across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 [and KS5], helping students build practical, creative and problem-solving skills in a well-equipped department. This is a great opportunity for an experienced D&T teacher or an enthusiastic ECT looking for a supportive school. What You’ll Be Doing * Planning and delivering engaging D&T lessons across KS3 and KS4 [and KS5] * Teaching Product Design / Resistant Materials / Textiles / Electronics * Supporting students through GCSE coursework (NEA) and practical projects * Making sure workshop health and safety procedures are followed * Assessing, marking and tracking student progress * Working with the Head of Department to develop the curriculum What We’re Looking For * QTS (or equivalent), with a specialism in Design and Technology * Experience teaching D&T in UK secondary schools (ECTs welcome to apply) * Confident, safe workshop practice * Strong behaviour management and a positive, organised approach * An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one * The right to work in the UK What We Offer * Competitive pay, paid to scale * A supportive school with a strong D&T department * A dedicated consultant who knows Newham schools * Easy online timesheets * Potential for the role to become permanent About Us Teaching Consultancy is an education recruitment agency and a member of APSCo.
