Salary: £95 - £115 per day (dependent on experience)

Teaching Consultancy is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established specialist SEN school in Tower Hamlets to recruit experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants for September. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school that provides outstanding education for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Complex Needs, Speech & Language difficulties and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

We are looking for caring, resilient and proactive Teaching Assistants who are passionate about helping every child reach their full potential.

Essential Requirements

  • Team Teach training (ESSENTIAL)
  • Previous experience working within a UK SEN school
  • Experience supporting children with Autism and/or complex learning needs
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A positive, patient and nurturing approach
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK

The Role

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
