Teaching Consultancy Ltd is recruiting Teaching Assistants for a secondary school in Tower Hamlets.
PLEASE NOTE: A VALID MANUAL HANDLING CERTIFICATE IS A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT FOR THIS POSITION. CANDIDATES WITHOUT A CURRENT MANUAL HANDLING CERTIFICATE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
The successful candidate will support students with additional needs both inside and outside the classroom, working closely with teaching staff and the SEN department.
- Supporting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
- Assisting students with SEND and physical needs.
- Supporting learning, behaviour and engagement.
- Following EHCPs and support plans.
- Undertaking manual handling duties in line with training and school procedures.
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
- Following safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or Support Worker.
- Current Manual Handling Certificate (ESSENTIAL – proof will be required).
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Team Teach or Positive Handling certification.
- Experience supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH or physical disabilities.
- School-based experience.
