We have an exciting opportunity at our Harpurhey campus to join our Service and Retail Industries Department as a Hair and Beauty Technician on a permanent, part-time (28 hours per week) term time only (42 weeks) basis.

Our Harpurhey campus is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment located in North Manchester, offering excellent facilities tailored to vocational education. The campus specialises in areas such as sport, public services, and foundation learning, with dedicated spaces that support hands-on, practical teaching. With a strong sense of community and a focus on student success, Harpurhey is a rewarding place to work, where staff can truly make an impact in learners’ lives.

The Manchester College is the Largest Further Education College in the United Kingdom and has the largest provisions for 16-19yrs olds, adults, and higher education in Greater Manchester. We are part of the LTE group that consists of MOL, Total People, UCEN Manchester, Novus, and LTE Group Operations. We currently support more than 25% of Greater Manchester’s learning provision and are currently rated “Good” by Ofsted. The Manchester Colleges offering is bolstered by 18 Centres of Excellence across our campuses, ensuring we give our best and strive to achieve an unrivalled learning experience for our students. We have partnerships with over 1000 industry and employer partners nationally to ensure our students secure their place as the leaders of the future.

  • 35 days paid annual leave plus 5 bank holidays (pro-rated for weeks worked per year)

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Industry relevant qualification as applicable by specialist function
  • First Aid qualification (or be prepared to work towards within first year)
  • Specific relevant industry experience
  • Specific relevant specialist skill
  • Ability to work as a team or individually
  • Working to deadlines
