We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Featherstone, working as a Vocational Cover Teacher in Construction on an ad-hoc basis.

HMP Featherstone is a Category C men’s prison situated near Wolverhampton in Staffordshire, England. The teams aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification – with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
- Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Ability to teach construction based courses related to bricklaying, tiling, plastering and health & safety
- Holiday pay is included within your hourly pay rate and is equal to 12.07% of your base hourly pay rate
- 2hrs for wellbeing/personal development per week
