The Senior Associate, ESG Data & Analytics is responsible for supporting the development of private markets and real assets ESG/sustainability reporting and analytic capabilities, translating requirements for technology product development, and supporting integration of analysis into investment processes and research tools.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for using investment-level ESG data to generate key performance indicators and other fund-level metrics required for regulatory or voluntary reporting frameworks.
  • Work with technology partners to develop requirements for calculation automations and supports user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Work with RI, Tech and Investment team colleagues to improve and develop data strategy and governance.
  • Ensure robust process for calculation, input, and review of quantitative ESG metrics across disclosures and investment analysis.
  • Work with the RI, RFP and client service teams to respond to client requests for bespoke and standardized ESG reporting and data.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on ESG data, tools, and analytics and familiarity with sources/vendors, data complexities, methodological considerations and disclosure frameworks.
  • Support in the development and streamlining of feedback loops (e.g. dashboards) to provide insights to investment team colleagues.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on existing and forthcoming regulatory and voluntary ESG reporting requirements and on best practice private market ESG data analytics.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with ESG data and fund level ESG metric calculations e.g. carbon footprint, carbon intensity, climate risk exposures, resource usage/performance.
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks e.g. SFDR, EET, TCFD, GRESB, UNPRI and ESG data sourcing and tools for private markets.
  • Experience in data science, coding (Python, SQL) and/or data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau a plus.

Competencies Required

  • Strong knowledge of and interest in ESG integration, sustainable investments, climate and nature transition.
  • Solid understanding of investment concepts across asset classes and funds.
  • Proven track record of working across a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work creatively and independently.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to business and client requirements as they emerge.
