Visit www.nuveen.com to learn more about us.Overview of the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the origination, analysis, and execution of clean energy investments across Europe.Key responsibilities: Modelling and investment proposalsProduce, develop, and review of cash flow based financial models for renewable energy generation projects / assets / platforms valuationUnderstand and optimise the project contractual structuresDefine, document, and monitor all project assumptionsUnderstand and analyse project SPV financial statementsAnalyse and interpret results from the financial model, run sensitivities to help with the assessment of the investment caseDraft investment proposals and investment committee presentations with support and input from Investment DirectorsSupport in training Analysts and Associates on developing financial modelling and valuation skillsTransaction supportSupport origination activities with renewable project developers in EU 27 economies and the UKDrive and assist in the execution of deals (acquisitions, exits, project financing, divestments)Drive due diligence workstreams and project manage transactions and coordinate work products from external advisors (developers / EPC contractors, lawyers, technical advisors, financing providers, etc.) including preparation where applicable of marketing materialsDevelop proprietary pipeline of potential transactions based on a network of contacts, with autonomy from, but transparency to the teamPortfolio management and Value creation Sit or support portfolio company boards, monitor KPIs, budgets and strategic plansDrive value creation initiatives: growth strategy, M&A, operational improvements, capital structure optimizationTrack ESG/ impacts metrics relevant to energy transitionMarket monitoringSupport in liaising with renewable energy and clean tech organisationsConduct research on selected sectors, countries or market segments to identify potential investment opportunitiesFollow regulatory development in the renewable energy sectors (regulatory framework, tariffs, EU targets, etc.Fund Level SupportFrom time to time the role will entail offering support to other teams with Fund level activities. Such activities may include:Production of marketing materials for fund raising campaignsCompilation of VDD materials for prospective LPsMiscellaneous additional activities associated with business developmentContribute to fund level reporting, LP communications and valuation processesQualifications & Experience RequiredCandidates must be competent to build and operate detailed financial models; manage legal, technical, regulatory and commercial due diligence workstreams with appropriate understanding; have significant understanding of the political and environmental relevance of the energy and power sectors.
