Erskine Stewart Melville Senior School is currently recruiting for a Technician (Food and Fashion Technologies) to join the Food and Fashion Technologies Department on a part-time, permanent basis (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). This is a term-time only role and is available from the 15 June 2026; however, a commencement date of the 17 August 2026, in line with the new academic session, will also be considered. This is a job share position, working 19 hours per week with full days on Monday and Tuesday and a half day in the morning on Wednesdays. The offering salary is £12,568 per annum.

The Technician (Food and Fashion Technologies) is responsible for coordinating and organising the practical resources, including equipment and resources to support the teachers in the Food and Fashion Technologies Department. The postholder will lead and complete routine and non-routine maintenance checks, including cleaning, checking, testing and repairing equipment for use before and after lessons and be responsible for ensuring there is stock and materials in place to ensure lessons can go ahead as planned.

The successful postholder will have relevant experience in a similar role and supporting a department in fashions and/or foods. They will have an adept knowledge of relevant Health & Safety policies, codes of practice and legislation and demonstrated experience in developing rapport with teachers, year group leaders and pupils.

Eligibility: ESMS is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. International applicants will therefore be unable to apply for and secure a Skilled Worker visa. The successful candidate will only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right to work in the UK.
