The Strength & Conditioning Coach will design, deliver, and develop a high-quality athletic development programme that supports student performance across all sports. The role will build upon the strong foundations established by the previous postholder, ensuring continuity while further enhancing the physical development, injury resilience, and performance potential of all athletes. A key aspect of the role is to work closely with Directors of Sport to deliver tailored physical preparation specific to the needs of each programme, while also overseeing delivery across multiple facilities and staff.
During term-time you will work 20 hours per week:
- Monday: 07.30 – 11.00
- Tuesday: 07.15 – 11.00 & 15.00 – 16.30
- Wednesday: 07.30 – 11.00
- Thursday: 07.15 – 11.00 & 15.30 – 16.30
- Friday: 07.00 – 10.00
Main Responsibilities:
- Programme Leadership & Development: Lead and deliver a structured long-term athletic development programme across all age groups. Build upon the strong foundations established by the predecessor, ensuring continuity while enhancing provision through evidence-based practice. Align S&C strategy with the school’s wider sporting vision and performance goals.
- Breadth of Sports Programmes: Work closely with Directors of Sport to understand and meet the physical demands of each programme. Design and deliver sport-specific S&C provision to support emerging and performance teams. Contribute to a joined-up, high-performance sporting environment across the school.
- Performance & Athlete Development: Support performance teams and high-potential athletes through targeted S&C programming. Monitor and track athlete progression, providing individualised development plans.
- Facility & Staff Management: Plan, coordinate, and manage delivery across two S&C facilities. Lead and oversee other S&C staff and coaches delivering sessions. Ensure high-quality, consistent delivery across all sessions and maintain safe, well-organised training environments.
- Programme Delivery & Operations: Deliver group, squad, and individual sessions across the school. Manage scheduling, equipment, and programme logistics effectively. Maintain accurate records of athlete development and programme delivery. Promote athlete welfare, education, and long-term physical development.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience within an independent or high-performance school environment.
- Experience managing staff or multi-site provision.
- Knowledge of athlete monitoring and performance testing systems.
- Possess a strong understanding of long-term athletic development.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify and nurture emerging talent.
- Be an excellent communicator, capable of engaging players, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
