Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a STEM Camp Assistant to join our week-long STEM Holiday Camp from Monday 13 – Friday 17 October 2025. This year\’s theme, in keeping with the Halloween season, is \’How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse\’!
This unique and thrilling camp, held in the Chemistry Department at George Watson\’s College, welcomes children of varying abilities from P7 to S2, from both our school and the wider Edinburgh Community. We believe STEM should be fun, accessible and engaging for all children. If you are passionate about hands-on learning and making STEM come to life, we want to hear from you.
Hours
Hours of work will be 35 hours per week, 8:30am – 4pm (including a 30 minute unpaid break).

Main Responsibilities
- As part of a dedicated team, you will support our Camp Leader and Camp Practitioner in supporting children in fun, engaging, and inclusive lessons and activities. Your primary duties will include:
- Helping to set up and clear away learning spaces
- Actively participate in activities, encouraging children’s involvement and enthusiasm whilst ensuring the safe use of equipment and resources
- Supervise groups of children under the guidance of the Camp Leader
- Assist with registration and sign-out procedures
- Support break times and lunch times as required
- Uphold the School’s safeguarding procedures and polices at all times.
The successful candidate will be required to complete mandatory training in health and safety, child protection, and fire safety, with all materials provided in advance.
