Belmont House School is seeking a Teacher of Geography & Social Sciences from Tuesday 11th August 2026. This is a fixed-term, maternity cover post and is likely to conclude at the end of June 2027. This post is full-time but could be part-time dependent on the skills and background of applicants. Potential applicants are welcome to contact the School to discuss this further.
Main Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be the main teacher of Geography within the Social Sciences Department with responsibility for the subject within the School.
Ideal Candidate
It is expected that the successful candidate will hold an Honours Degree and be registered with, or eligible for registration with, The General Teaching Council for Scotland. The successful candidate should be capable of teaching up to and including Advanced Higher and ideally have a proven record of presentation at least to Higher Grade. However, all applicants will be considered, including those who can demonstrate outstanding potential at an early stage in their career.
