Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are currently recruiting for a Junior School Assistant (including Games) to join The Junior School on a temporary basis from March 2026 (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks) until 26 June 2026. This is a full-time, term time only role, working 37.5 hours per week with a pro rata salary of £20,807 per annum. The role is based at the ESMS Junior School at Queensferry Road.

The purpose of the role is to support and provide in-class administrative assistance to Year Group Leaders, Class Teachers and Teacher Assistants, particularly in ESMS Junior School. They also support the Junior School Games programme (P4-7), including midweek Games, supervision over Breakfast and Bus Clubs on a rota basis and Saturday morning coaching and games.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children, excellent organisational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in coaching and working in a school setting and supporting events is desirable, along with a positive, proactive attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Eligibility: ESMS is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. International applicants will therefore be unable to apply for and secure a Skilled Worker visa. The successful candidate will only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right to work in the UK.
