Erskine Stewart’s Melville are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Biology to join the Biology Department at the ESM Senior School on a permanent basis from 17 August 2026 (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). This is a permanent, full time teaching position. The postholder will be required to teach Biology to all year groups up to Advanced Higher and contribute to the School’s extra-curricular programme.
Knowledge of the curriculum design, assessment and progression with experience of contributing to schemes of work, resources and maintaining safe practice, alongside a commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing is essential, as well as having a genuine passion for delivering engaging, well-structured Biology lessons. The successful candidate must be GTCS registered, or eligible for registration, with the relevant subject specific teaching degree. They will be passionate about Biology and will support the department to collaborate, create and build a successful subject offering to all students of the Senior School as well as contribute to extra-curricular activities and science programmes.
