The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a caring and dedicated individual to provide support to our students with additional support needs. This will include facilitating positive learning and assisting in the development of confidence and social and communication skills. This is a Full Time, Term Time position, Fixed Term to June 2027.
How you will make an impact
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with teachers to ensure activities and programmes are delivered to meet the individual needs of our students to ensure that they meet their full potential. In addition, you will assist during our social times (e.g. Kindergarten lunch cover, homework club), After Care, welcoming and registering pupils on and off buses. Hours are 8.30 am – 6 pm Mon to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Fridays.
What you need to succeed
- You will have a knowledge and understanding of additional support needs and strategies and have the ability to use a variety of resources to respond creatively to learners' needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is a patient empathetic approach.
- Registration (or the ability to register within 3 months of joining) the SSSC is essential.
- A relevant qualification in a related discipline e.g. NC/NVQ I Childcare, Teaching Assistant or Special Education would be an advantage.
