Are you an experienced Tutor who is passionate about helping young people re‑engage with education? Do you have experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH needs, or those currently out of education? Are you adaptable, patient, and confident delivering personalised one-to-one tuition?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with local authorities and alternative education providers across Gloucestershire to recruit an experienced Tutor. Tuition takes place face‑to‑face within the learner's home or a suitable local community setting, supporting young people who require an alternative approach to education due to EHCPs, medical needs, or exclusion from mainstream settings.

The successful Tutor will work on a long‑term basis for a minimum of 15 hours per week, delivering tailored learning programmes that meet individual needs and academic targets. The tutor will build positive relationships, support educational progress, and help learners regain confidence and engagement with learning whilst working independently across a range of subjects and abilities.

Key Qualifications

  • A recognised teaching qualification or extensive tutoring experience
  • Experience supporting children and young people with SEND, SEMH, EHCPs, or additional learning needs
  • The ability to plan and deliver personalised lessons to individual learners
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting vulnerable learners
  • Access to local transport and the ability to travel for face‑to‑face tuition
