TeacherActive is proud to be working with a provision in the DY13 area that is looking to appoint a dedicated male SEND Teaching Assistant to support a student with complex additional needs on a 1-2-1 basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work Monday to Friday from 10am – 1pm, providing emotional and academic support to a student with complex SEND needs. The role requires a calm, patient and understanding SEND Teaching Assistant who can build a positive relationship with the student while supporting engagement, emotional regulation and confidence throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-2-1 emotional and academic support to a student with complex SEND needs during 10am – 1pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Encourage consistent engagement, emotional regulation and confidence throughout the school day.
  • Use any visual or physical resources as needed to support the student's learning and well-being.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • The ability to provide emotional and academic support on a 1-2-1 basis.
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain resilient and adaptable.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
