TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH school in Wolverhampton for pupils aged 8 to 16. The school is committed to providing a safe, respectful and inclusive environment where every pupil is valued, supported through excellent pastoral care and encouraged to achieve their full potential through a holistic approach to education.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Humanities Teacher on a long-term basis with the opportunity to become permanent. Working 4 or 5 days per week, the successful SEMH Humanities Teacher will deliver engaging Humanities lessons to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, creating a calm, supportive classroom environment while promoting positive behaviour, engagement and academic progress.

Qualifications

  • QTS with a Humanities specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)
  • Experience teaching Humanities at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH, challenging behaviour or within an alternative provision
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A calm, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
