About the Role

My client is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Breakfast Club and After-School Club Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will help provide a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for children before and after the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support children during breakfast club and after-school sessions.
  • Organise and lead age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts.
  • Prepare and serve healthy snacks and refreshments.
  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage social interaction.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth setting.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Caring, patient, and approachable nature.
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.

Desirable:

  • Relevant childcare qualification (Level 2 or 3).
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience planning activities for children.
