TeacherActive is working in partnership with a specialist land-based FE college in Warwickshire to recruit an Animal Care Lecturer. This opportunity is well suited to either a qualified educator or an industry professional who is looking to progress into teaching within a supportive and vocationally focused environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a combination of practical and theory-based sessions across animal care and management programmes. You will support learners in developing hands-on skills within a real working environment, whilst also contributing to their academic progression through structured classroom-based delivery.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in ensuring learners gain the knowledge, confidence, and practical experience required to progress within the animal care industry or onto further study.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lessons across animal care and animal management programmes
- Supervise and support learners during practical sessions
- Assess student work and maintain accurate records of progress
- Provide tailored support to learners with varying abilities and needs
- Ensure all activities are conducted in line with health and safety requirements
- A Level 3 qualification or above in Animal Care or a related subject area
- A teaching qualification (PTTLS, DTTLS, CTTLS, PGCE/PCET)
- Previous experience working within the animal care or land-based sector
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and learner welfare
- A dedicated consultant providing continuous support throughout your placement
