Are you confident supporting children within KS1 & KS2 and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning? We are working with a welcoming mainstream primary school that is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant / Mentor to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This role helps build rapport with students who work within the Hub and need additional support in school. There may be challenging behaviours, requiring you to be proactive, work as a team, and have the knowledge to support those children who demonstrate challenging behaviour at school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is calm under pressure, resilient, and passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children who may require additional behavioural and emotional support throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For
- Confidence in managing and responding to challenging behaviours in a positive and professional manner
- The ability to support children who may arrive at school upset, anxious, or dysregulated
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach when helping children regulate their emotions
- The ability to think quickly on your feet and adapt to changing situations throughout the school day
- Strong relationship‑building skills to help pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn
- Experience working with children with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs is desirable
