TeacherActive is looking for Exam Invigilators to join our friendly team in running the internal school examinations at a mainstream secondary school in the Walsall area. This is a casual contract, allowing you to pick up as many or as few shifts as desired, which can be negotiated for each exam period. Once we receive exam timetables in December from the school, you will be able to select hours to suit your availability.
Examples of hours typically on offer are as follows:

- Mid morning - 11:00-13:30
- PM - 12:00-15:30
The post would be ideally suited to applicants who are highly organised, reliable, and happy to work flexible hours. In addition, you should be able to remain calm under pressure and be flexible to be called in at short notice.
We are looking for reliable and confident candidates to join the invigilator team. Successful applicants will be able to:
- Understand and apply detailed written instructions while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Use initiative in response to unexpected situations.
- Be punctual, as it is imperative the exams start as scheduled.
- Prepare the exam room, following instructions from the Lead Invigilator & Examinations Officer.
- Support students as required during examinations.
- Distribute and collect examination papers and equipment.
- Observe students during examinations to ensure correct behaviour.
With the nature of exam invigilating being seasonal, many people take up this role around other commitments. Full training will be provided, so previous experience is not necessary, but we will need two UK-based references as a minimum.
We will need to ensure that every candidate has an enhanced DBS certificate and two references obtained before the end of April. Please apply with plenty of time for us to obtain these so you are not held up from starting. Shifts are given out on a first come, first served basis.
