If you answered yes, we’d love to hear from you. We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team in a nurturing yet challenging Alternative Provision/SEN environment. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students, many of whom have experienced barriers to learning such as SEMH needs, ASD, ADHD, or trauma. This is not your average classroom; every day is different. You’ll be supporting young people to re-engage with learning, develop social and emotional skills, and build confidence both in and out of lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individual and small-group learning, adapting activities to meet diverse needs.
- Foster a calm, positive, and safe learning environment where students feel valued and respected.
- Encourage and model positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
- Help students develop essential life skills that extend beyond the classroom.
