Immediate Opportunities for Tutors with Rhondda Council
We are seeking several enthusiastic Tutors to start immediately. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with Primary and Secondary pupils across Rhondda, within settings committed to delivering the highest standard of education and opportunities for all learners. The Local Authority is dedicated to fostering a dynamic, inclusive community, while equipping students with the essential skills to progress confidently in their educational and career journeys.
Responsibilities
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and engaging Tutor, ready to inspire and maintain high standards of learning. You will support learners with fundamental skills, study techniques, well-being, and pastoral care. A strong proficiency in Maths and Literacy is essential, as some pupils will be preparing for their GCSE examinations.
Tutoring will be delivered on a one-to-one basis, with additional training provided to ensure adherence to best practises in this environment.
Key Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for this role
- Level 3 or Coaching qualification related to Education (desirable but not essential)
- Experience in a learning support capacity, including skills development, pastoral care, or well-being (desirable)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, with experience managing challenging behaviours
- Demonstrated commitment to learner support and well-being, with an inclusive, learner-centred approach
- Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with young people, parents, external organisations, and academic staff
