TeacherActive is partnered with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout Derby to provide educational support to individuals currently out of mainstream education or seeking additional support including those with SEND.

We are currently looking for TAs and Tutors with experience working with challenging young people to provide KS1-KS4 Maths and English support on a 1:1 basis for students who are not currently accessing mainstream education.

The students have diagnoses of Autism and ADHD and have been out of education for some time. They require support with core subjects Maths and English at a lower level. The Tutor will assess their current ability and reintroduce education into their routine while a suitable school provision is found. Lessons will take place either in a local library or at the young person\’s home.

Applicants must have strong understanding of SEN and a good level of Maths and English skills.

Position Details

  • Position: KS1‑KS4 Tutor
  • Hours: 10‑15 hours a week (during the school day)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: ongoing
