TeacherActive is proud to be working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Tewkesbury in their search for a Design & Technology Teacher. This ambitious and knowledge-rich setting is committed to high standards, excellent teaching and creating an environment where students develop creativity, confidence and pride in their practical achievements while preparing for future study and employment.

The school is looking to appoint a part-time Design & Technology Teacher on a permanent basis, working 26 hours per week (0.8FTE). The successful Design & Technology Teacher will deliver Engineering and DT Timbers across KS3, KS4 and KS5, supporting students through the full design process while developing practical workshop skills, technical knowledge and safe working practices.

The successful Design & Technology Teacher will have:

  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology, Engineering and DT Timbers
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology across KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, material properties and workshop safety
  • Experience supporting SEND, EAL, Pupil Premium and high-attaining learners
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire creativity and innovation
