TeacherActive are working closely with a number of welcoming and supportive Secondary Schools across Gloucestershire who are looking for motivated, positive, and reliable Cover Teachers. As a Cover Teacher, you will lead lessons in place of the class teacher using prepared work, meaning no planning, marking, or specialist subject knowledge is required. Your main role is to guide, motivate, supervise and support students, ensuring they stay engaged and make progress throughout the lesson.
This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates, future teaching assistants, career changers, sports coaches, youth mentors and anyone passionate about helping young people succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Leading pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects
- Motivating, engaging and supporting students in their learning
- Managing behaviour in a calm, confident and professional manner
- Building positive relationships with students and staff
- Becoming a valued member of the school community
- Gaining highly valuable experience for future teacher training or school-based roles
- CACHE Level 2/3 or minimum 6 months experience working with young people
- Confident communication skills and the ability to lead a classroom
- Adaptability, resilience and willingness to learn
- A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed
Your background could be in coaching, mentoring, childcare, tutoring, youth work, support work, or similar; your experience is valued!
