TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in Rotherham that supports children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The setting provides a structured and nurturing environment, with a strong focus on behaviour support, emotional regulation and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, both inside and outside of the classroom, using de-escalation techniques, positive behaviour strategies and building strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement in learning.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
- Experience working within a SEND or alternative provision setting
- A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
