Are you an experienced Deputy Head Teacher with a passion for supporting students with complex needs? Do you have strong leadership skills and experience working with PMLD and SLD learners? Are you looking for a full-time Deputy Head Teacher role with the opportunity to become permanent?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Brierley Hill supporting children and young people aged 4–19 with PMLD, SLD and non-verbal communication needs. The school provides a highly supportive and nurturing environment, with a strong focus on individualised learning, communication development and life skills.

The school is looking to take on a full-time Deputy Head Teacher on a long-term basis, with the potential to lead to a permanent position for the right Deputy Head Teacher. The successful Deputy Head Teacher will support the Head Teacher in leading the school, overseeing teaching and learning, and ensuring high-quality provision for pupils with complex needs including PMLD, SLD and non-verbal learners.

The successful Deputy Head Teacher will have:

  • QTS and senior leadership experience within a school setting
  • Experience working with students with PMLD, SLD and non-verbal needs
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Experience supporting staff development and improving teaching standards
