Are you an experienced Support Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are working with a welcoming secondary school in the Newcastle area that is seeking to appoint an experienced Support Assistant (SEND). The school is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student is encouraged to thrive, supported by a dedicated SEN team and a positive, nurturing ethos. The school is looking to appoint a full-time Support Assistant (SEND) from September on a long-term basis.

The successful Support Assistant (SEND) will work closely with students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, providing both classroom and one-to-one support to promote engagement, independence, and academic progress.

The successful Support Assistant (SEND) will have:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND within an educational setting
  • Experience working with students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A commitment to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential
