How to prepare for a job interview at TeacherActive
✨Know Your EYFS Inside Out
Make sure you brush up on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework before your interview. Being able to discuss how you would implement it in a nursery setting will show that you're not just qualified, but also passionate about early years education.
✨Showcase Your Teamwork Skills
Since you'll be working collaboratively with permanent staff, be ready to share examples of how you've successfully worked in a team before. Highlighting your communication skills and ability to adapt to different environments will make you stand out.
✨Prepare for Scenario Questions
Expect to be asked how you would handle specific situations with children. Think of a few scenarios where you had to create a safe and stimulating environment or manage daily routines, and be prepared to explain your thought process.
✨Ask Thoughtful Questions
At the end of the interview, don’t forget to ask questions! Inquire about the nursery's approach to play-based learning or how they support their supply practitioners. This shows your genuine interest in the role and helps you assess if it's the right fit for you.
