Salary: £90 - £100 per day
Do you have experience supporting young people with Autism / ASD? Are you confident adapting your communication and approach to meet the individual needs of students with Autism / ASD? Can you provide patient and consistent support to help students overcome barriers to learning?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary setting in Sunderland that supports students aged 11 - 18 with various additional educational needs. The setting is committed to providing pupils with the individual support they need to engage positively with their education and develop their confidence.
The school is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a short to long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support students with various educational needs, including Autism / ASD, working alongside teaching staff to provide individual and classroom support while encouraging engagement, independence and positive behaviour.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with Autism / ASD and additional educational needs
- Experience supporting secondary-aged students is desirable
- A patient and supportive approach
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to adapt to the individual needs of students
- A positive, proactive and resilient attitude
