Are you an experienced Caretaker looking for a new opportunity within a school environment? TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming school in Sunderland that is looking to appoint a dedicated Caretaker on a long-term basis. The school has a strong community ethos and is committed to providing a safe and positive learning environment for both students and staff.
The school is looking for a Caretaker to work 36 hours per week on a 2-week shift rota, alternating between 6am–2pm and 11am–7pm, with reduced hours on Fridays. The successful Caretaker will be responsible for:
- Opening and closing the school site
- Carrying out basic maintenance duties
- Ensuring the premises remain safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a Caretaker, Site Supervisor or Facilities Assistant
- Experience carrying out basic maintenance and repairs
- The ability to open and close the school independently
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures
- A proactive and reliable attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
