Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour

Are you looking for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant role where full training and ongoing support are provided?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in the town of Street, supporting students aged 11-19. Guided by their vision of 'Learning for Life', the school works closely with parents and learners to equip every student with the skills they need for lifelong success, creating a supportive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant from September. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support students with additional learning needs both in and out of the classroom, helping to promote independence, engagement and confidence. Previous experience is not essential as full support will be provided; however, dedication, patience, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential qualities for this rewarding role.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is desirable but not essential
  • A genuine passion for working with students aged 11-19
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, empathy and a positive attitude
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist education setting
  • A proactive and reliable approach to supporting pupils and staff
