TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist secondary SEMH provision based in Stoke-on-Trent. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for students aged 11 – 16 who require additional support with their social, emotional and mental health needs. The leadership team are committed to creating a safe and engaging setting where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
The school is looking to take on a dedicated HLTA on a full-time long-term basis, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right HLTA. The successful HLTA will be supporting students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, delivering intervention sessions, supporting learning in the classroom and helping to manage behaviours positively. The role requires a confident HLTA who can remain calm under pressure and adapt to the individual needs of students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges.
The successful HLTA will have:
- HLTA qualification or relevant Level 4 qualification
- Experience working with secondary aged students with SEMH needs
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Experience supporting students with challenging behaviours
- A patient, resilient and proactive attitude
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
