TeacherActive is proud to be working with a school in Mansfield who are looking for a permanent Caretaker to fulfil a vacancy. The ideal person would need to be local, as the hours are split throughout the day to best service the needs of the school. You will be working closely with the School Business Manager to ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient site as well as a safe environment that adheres to the needs of the premises.
If you are someone with experience working as a Caretaker in a previous role, or have experience working in a maintenance role, this could be for you.
The ideal Caretaker will be able to complete the following:
- Lead and deliver effective care-taking, cleaning, and maintenance services across the whole school site.
- Ensure site security and safety, including opening/locking up, alarm response, emergency call-outs, and out-of-hours cover.
- Manage maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, and grounds, including statutory checks (fire, water, heating) and seasonal safety tasks.
- Plan and oversee proactive and reactive maintenance works, minor repairs, and contractors, ensuring compliance with H&S and safeguarding requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and site presentation, including line management of cleaning staff and manual handling/set-up duties as needed.
- Work within organisational policies, H&S risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures, with flexibility to attend evenings/weekends and complete required training.
