Do you enjoy supporting children one-to-one and helping them grow in confidence every day? We’re looking for a warm and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school based in Sutton. This is a lovely opportunity to work closely with pupils with Autism, providing consistent support in a nurturing and structured environment. This is a long-term Teaching Assistant role.
Your Teaching Assistant duties:
- Supporting a pupil with autism on a one-to-one and small groups basis.
- Helping with personalised learning activities.
- Encouraging communication, independence, and social skills.
- Providing calm and positive behaviour support.
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team.
As a Teaching Assistant - what do the school require from you?
- Experience supporting children in SEND schools.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND is a bonus!
- A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
- Confident in your ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations.
- Resilience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and team mindset.
