About the Role: TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND provision based in Stoke-on-Trent. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, alongside Autism / ASD. The leadership team is committed to creating a safe and engaging setting where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential. The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be supporting students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups, helping to manage behaviour, promote emotional regulation and encourage engagement within the classroom. The role will involve supporting students with SEMH needs and Autism / ASD across different age groups.
Responsibilities:
- Support students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups to manage behaviour, promote emotional regulation, and encourage engagement in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, specifically SEMH and Autism / ASD.
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people.
- A can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
