We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The Role
- Deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Adapt teaching strategies to support students with Autism and SEMH needs
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Encourage curiosity, practical learning, and student participation
- Support students to build confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
- Work closely with pastoral teams, teaching assistants, and families
- Contribute to a therapeutic and relationship-focused approach to education
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Has experience teaching Science at secondary level
- Understands the challenges faced by students with additional needs
- Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Can build strong relationships and inspire disengaged learners
- Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Is passionate about helping every student achieve their potential
