Are you a passionate PE Teacher who can inspire students with a love of sport and physical education? Do you have strong behaviour management skills within an SEMH setting? Can you build positive relationships with students who have Autism and additional needs?

TeacherActive are proud to be working with a specialist secondary SEMH provision based in Stoke-on-Trent (ST2), catering for young people with Autism (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a structured, nurturing environment where students are supported to re‑engage with education through a personalised and therapeutic approach, with a strong focus on emotional regulation, resilience and personal development.

We are currently seeking a dedicated PE Teacher to join the provision on a full‑time, long‑term basis, starting ASAP / Immediate Start. The successful PE Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible PE lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapting activities to meet a wide range of abilities and needs, including Autism and SEMH‑related barriers to learning. This role requires strong classroom management and the ability to motivate and inspire learners who may have faced significant challenges in mainstream education.

Qualifications
  • QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching PE at secondary level (KS3/KS4)
  • Experience working with SEMH, Autism or additional learning needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A resilient, adaptable and patient approach
  • Ability to plan and differentiate engaging PE lessons for mixed ability groups
