TeacherActive are looking for Sports Coaches to join fantastic SEN and SEMH schools in the Bury area, supporting students with a range of complex needs, behavioural needs, and additional learning requirements.

The Role

  • Support small groups and 1:1 learners with a range of SEND needs (SEMH, ASD, ADHD, MLD, PMLD depending on school).
  • Use sport, movement and activity to help regulate behaviour and build confidence.
  • Lead structured activities as well as support PE lessons, break-time engagement, and classroom routines.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students who thrive with strong role models.
  • Work closely with teachers, TAs and behaviour teams to create a safe, encouraging and enjoyable learning environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in sports coaching, youth work, outdoor education, mentoring or behaviour support.
  • Confident working with students who may display challenging behaviours.
  • Resilient, calm and able to adapt quickly.
  • A passion for helping young people reach their potential through sport.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference.
  • Experience in a school or SEN setting is desirable but not essential – full guidance provided.
