TeacherActive are looking for enthusiastic and professional Tutors for a school we are working with in Newcastle. We work with children services and inclusive learning services to enable Looked After Children to make progress in line with their non-looked after peers. We work with a wide range of Looked After Children in care who have a diverse set of needs. Tutors provide learning assistance for young people preparing for exams or re-adjusting to mainstream education. We are currently seeking tutors for home tuition and school-based support, focusing on delivering core skills in English, Maths, and behaviour specialists.
You will be able to work full time or part time depending on your personal preference of working hours.
As a Tutor you will require the following:
- Excellent communication skills
- At least 6 months experience within an educational environment
- Experience working with pupils on a 1-1 basis
- A passion for making a difference to young people's learning
- Positive behaviour strategy knowledge and experience of helping children self-regulate emotions
- Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people in the care system and those with SEN
