TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Chesterfield S41, supporting recruitment for a Special Education Needs and Disabilities Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA. The setting focuses on pupil development, with progress sought academically and in emotional, social, and behavioural skills. The school is seeking a passionate team player for a short-term role, with potential for a long-term placement for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The successful candidate will bring new skills, be keen to develop to adapt to individual needs, and have a positive impact on the wider school.
Responsibilities
- The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
- A proactive thinker who can take control of situations confidently is necessary.
Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months experience in an educational establishment.
- A calm, patient and caring personality.
- Experience with personal care & physical disabilities.
- Good communication skills.
- A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
- Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis.

- Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced Child and Adult DBS disclosure and provide at least 2 references.
