TeacherActive is proud to be working with a well-established secondary school in the heart of Tonbridge Wells that is seeking an English Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis. Having achieved a Strong standard in its 2026 OFSTED inspection, the school is committed to academic excellence for all pupils whilst maintaining a caring and supportive environment where they firmly believe no young person will learn unless they are happy in school. Through a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities, students are encouraged to develop both inside and outside of the classroom.

The school is looking to appoint an English Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The successful English Teacher will be responsible for delivering English lessons across Key KS3 & KS4, planning and assessing student progress, and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning. The successful English Teacher will join a supportive department committed to achieving the best outcomes for all learners.

The successful English Teacher will have:

  • QTS with an English specialism
  • Experience teaching English up to Key Stage 4 / KS4
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A proven ability to engage and motivate secondary-aged students
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A positive, adaptable and proactive approach to teaching
