TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Bridgwater, supporting with their recruitment for an English Lead & Class Teacher. The school supports pupils across all Key Stages, all of whom have an Education Health and Care Plan. The provision creates a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and communication skills while accessing a tailored curriculum suited to their individual needs.
The school is looking to appoint a permanent, full-time English Lead & Class Teacher. The successful English Lead & Class Teacher will be responsible for leading English across the all-age special school while also teaching pupils with a wide range of SEND including Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, visual and hearing impairments, and Autistic Spectrum Condition. The role will involve delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, supporting literacy development across the school and working collaboratively with staff to promote high quality teaching and learning.
The successful English Lead & Class Teacher will have:
- QTS with experience teaching English
- Experience working with children and young people with SEND
- A strong understanding of MLD, SLD, PMLD, ASC and sensory impairments
- Experience leading or supporting curriculum development within English
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach to teaching and learning
