TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEN school in Bridgwater that supports students aged 4 to 19, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school is built around its values of Aspire, Empower and Belong, providing an inclusive and nurturing environment with specialist facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, sensory rooms and adapted outdoor learning spaces to help every student thrive.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant on either a permanent, part-time or day-to-day basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with a range of additional needs including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), severe and moderate learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and visual or hearing impairments, helping them access learning, develop independence and achieve their individual goals.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND or additional learning needs
- A caring, patient and adaptable approach to supporting learners
- Knowledge or experience of supporting pupils with PMLD, ASC, learning difficulties or sensory impairments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- A genuine passion for helping children and young people succeed
