Overview

A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in north Liverpool is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher to join their team from September 2nd, 2025. Someone with strong experience and subject knowledge is necessary who is dedicated to making a difference to students learning process and education experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity to teach engaged learners in a school that is passionate about social justice, academic achievement, and preparing students for life beyond the classroom. The school has a strong Sixth Form provision and is committed to delivering a high-quality Humanities and social sciences curriculum that challenges and inspires, therefore it is essential to be experienced in teaching sociology up to KS5.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Sociology lessons to KS4 and KS5 students
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and debate
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching to support all learners
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Humanities department and across the wider school
  • Support students preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations
