TeacherActive is currently working closely with a welcoming primary school in South Birmingham (Solihull) who are seeking an Arabic-speaking Teaching Assistant to support pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL). This is a full-time role, supporting Arabic-speaking pupils in the classroom to help them access learning, understand instructions, and develop their English language skills.
The role:
- Supporting pupils with EAL on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Working closely with the class teacher to adapt learning materials
- Supporting pupils socially and emotionally within the classroom
- Helping pupils engage confidently in lessons and school life
Role details:
- Location: South Birmingham (Solihull)
- Days: Monday β Friday (5 days per week)
- Hours: 8:30am β 3:30pm
Language requirement: Must be able to speak Arabic
The ideal candidate will:
- Be fluent in Arabic
- Have experience working with children in the UK (school or educational setting preferred)
- Have experience supporting pupils with EAL (desirable but not essential)
- Be reliable, patient, and confident working in a classroom environment
- Be able to commit to full-time hours (Monday to Friday)
Safeguarding & compliance requirements:
- To work through TeacherActive, candidates must:
- Hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (or be willing to apply for one)
- Be able to provide 2 references (including a recent employer reference)
- Have the right to work in the UK
