TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a confident and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. This can be a temporary or long-term opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

We are looking for a proactive HLTA who is passionate about supporting pupils' learning and development, particularly within Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will be confident supporting whole-class learning, delivering planned interventions, covering lessons where required, and working closely with teaching staff to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Early Career Teachers are also welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant or an experienced Teaching Assistant within a primary school
  • A Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards one)
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the confidence to lead a class when required
  • Experience delivering learning activities, including contributing to lesson preparation, selecting appropriate resources, and delivering planned elements of lessons
  • Substantial experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a school setting
  • Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning
