Salary: £15 - £18 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist college school in Harborne, Birmingham. The college promotes an inclusive and nurturing environment, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other Complex Needs.

The school is looking to take on a Senior Maintenance Operative on a temporary basis, with the potential to become long term for the right candidate.

The successful Senior Maintenance Operative will have:

  • Level 2 in one of Multi Trades.
  • Previous experience in general building repairs and maintenance, e.g., plastering, carpentry, decorating or similar tasks.
  • To be flexible, able and willing to assist with a wide range of repair and maintenance duties, as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • To understand the principles of lifting and manual handling and apply them to their work.
  • To be physically fit and able to lift/carry heavy and bulky items of equipment and/or materials.
  • To demonstrate a mature and responsible approach to their work.
  • To be able to work on their own initiative and to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • To hold a full driving licence.
