TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEND provisions across Newark and Mansfield, supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs. These settings provide structured and supportive environments, focusing on building positive relationships and helping students re‑engage with education.

We are looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a day‑to‑day basis with the opportunity for long‑term roles for the right candidate. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with students with SEMH needs, support behaviour management, deliver tailored interventions, and promote engagement both inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of experience working within a UK education setting
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive and flexible attitude
